Overview
Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Management Research deals with research principles, including formulations of research questions, hypothesis and objectives. The unit will cover literature reviews, referencing, data collection using interviews and surveys, questionnaire design, statistical analysing, qualitative data analysis inferences and conclusions from the analysed data.
Learning Objectives
Overall learning objectives of this course are,
- A critical understanding of the different assumptions underlying research into the social sciences and the nature and status of research methodology,
- An overview of the different debates and issues underlying the research process and how this relates to the specific methods they may select to conduct a study
- Critically review the collection, presentation and analysis of data to complete a research project.
- Appreciate the quality issues associated with data handling

Assessment Methods
Assessment methods include an assignment. There is no exam in this course. You will be required to submit an assignment of a minimum of 1500 words to achieve 15 credits.
Results and Certificate
Learners are required to achieve 15 credits to achieve the following qualification, awarded by EBMA.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods for Managers OR
- Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods using SPSS OR
- Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Management Research.
